Partnership News20160108_144903

OK is now partnering with HDESD (High Desert Education Service District, Central Oregon’s regional school district) in a program where we provide a Pitch Panel of entrepreneurs to help the district vet ideas and, in the process, create a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within their system. This partnership has been a lot of fun so far and we’re really exicted about where it’s going. Imagine the benefits that could result from bringing entrepreneurs and academia together!

This Thursday! We’d love to see you at the next Cocktails and Colleagues gathering!

What: A fun hour of (program-free) socializing with the OK community!
When: First Thursdays monthly from 4 to 5pm
Where: Oregon Spirit Distillers, 740 NW 1st St. Bend, OR 97701 (No host bar)
Who: You and anyone and everyone related to the OK community, and anyone interested in learning more about OK. All are welcome!

As always, we welcome your feedback, suggestions and questions about all things OK!

In Gratitude,
The OK Membership Committee

unnamedCOMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

BendBroadband’s Report from Outdoor Retailers Show

In January, BendBroadband spent three days in Salt Lake City at the Outdoor Retailers show helping support its various outdoors customers, several of whom are Opportunity Knocks members.

OK member company and sponsor Hydro Flask celebrated its incredible growth – the company was recently named one of Inc. magazine’s 500 fastest-growing companies for the second straight year – with the launch of a new line of colors and caps for its products.

Cairn, an OK member since last February, explored new relationships with potential brand partners for its monthly subscription boxes while Ruffwear, another OK member, highlighted its line of winter dog coats.

“There’s a lot you don’t know when you’re looking to start a business,” said Rob Little, the owner and founder of Cairn. “I know I don’t have all the answers, but it’s important to not let that stop you from starting a business.”

If Internet or phone services for your business are part of that overwhelming picture, the dedicated business specialists at BendBroadband would love to help you out. Give us a call at 541-312-6600.

Do you have exciting news about your company or organization? We’d love to share it with the OK community! Contact Aly (aly@opp-knocks.org) with your news or update.
