Connie Newport is the Co-facilitator of OK 28. She moved to Bend in 2001 after retiring as a parks and recreation director in suburban Chicago. In addition to Opportunity Knocks, she has served on the board of the Bend Parks Foundation, the Bend Golf and Country Club and currently serves on the board of the St. Charles Foundation and has done work for several non-profits.
Eric Meade joined Entre Prises Climbing Walls in 1994 and led it through its largest growth period in history, before a successful exit in 2008. Since then, he worked as the Membership Director for Opportunity Knocks, was an investor in two Bend Venture Conferences, co-founded Bend Outdoor Worx and opened his own consulting business-Eric Meade Consulting. His passion is to support and develop leaders of businesses to establish clear strategies, financial planning, implementation planning, and a sustainable profitability model.
Shannon is CEO of Sudara, a Bend-based B Corporation with a “double bottom line”: i.e. they 1) manufacture lounge and nightwear in India and sell it online in the United States and 2) they employ Indian women as seamstresses; women who have escaped from, or are at the highest risk of, human trafficking. Sudara’s humanitarian mission is to provide dignified employment opportunities for women and girls in India. Shannon is a 2015 TEDxBend speaker and a mother of two.
Brian, a Central Oregon native, is the owner of Composite Approach, a Bend company that produces customized composite materials used to build everything from parts for Lancairs to unmanned aquatic vehicles to customized strollers. For the past 14 years, Brian has sculpted Composite Approach into one of the leading contract composite manufacturers in the industry with much of our focus over the past six years assisting in the Lancair Evolution production and development.
Dave is the paddle designer and a co-owner of Kialoa. A long time outrigger paddler, he learned his craft, in a makeshift shop located on the back porch of his parents’ home in Kailua, Hawaii. Dave and Meg Chun moved Kialoa to Bend, Oregon, in 1992, where they manufacture products for paddlers.
Rick is the Founder and CEO of Silipint, the first and only silicone pint glass. Customizable for corporate branding,and overall fun.
Rob is the owner of Ocean Equipment, a sales, marketing and distribution company in the boating industry.
Scott is the President of CIES, Inc., a company specializing in high reliability non contact aircraft sensor systems.

I have my degrees in Dietetics and Exercise Physiology. I have spent 25 yrs working in the holistic medicine field and raising 3 children.
My professional field has gained me experience in management of people and departments. I am a self-starter haveing contracted my services out to places like Hewlett Packer, St. Charles Medical Center, The Athletic Club of Bend and New Leaf Academy.
I have been the CEO of Jem Organics for 4 years. As an owner of a start-up company, I have worn many hats from manufacturing, sales, marketing, HR, bookkeeper, and the list goes on. I am currently learning all about LEAN principles which I find extremely valuable.
